Peter Waterfield secured the silver medal in the mens 10m Individual at the FINA Grand Prix in Rostock, Germany after first beating Olympic Champion Matt Mitcham in his semi-final.
The Athens Olympic silver medallist, Waterfield, went into the final with confidence and executed a number of excellent dives on his way to taking second place.
There is still time to apply to be part of the British Swimming Volunteer Training Programme.

The British Masters Rankings list best swimming performances for each gender, age group and event, in both long and short course formats. The Rankings System maintains the best performances on a Calendar year basis, and is published and updated throughout the year on the British Swimming website.

The English Talent Development Programme (Level 3) will come together for a warm-weather training camp in April when they travel to Cyprus for an intense week of training. A team of around 40 swimmers will be staying at the Coral Bay Beach Resort in Paphos with a view to preparing the athletes that could be selected for the LEN European Junior Swimming Championships in July.
Coral Bay was notably the venue of the swimming squads preparation camp ahead of the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens where British Swimmers went on to claim two bronze medals.

3 April 2010 during the British Gas National Championships
Have you ever dreamed of your voice reverberating around our future sporting venues, educating fans and exhilarating supporters? British Swimming are looking for the next generation of live presentation talent and offering you the chance to become the voice of swimming.
British Swimming's exclusive course offers an opportunity to spend half a day learning from two of the countrys best commentary and announcing coaches, Rob Notham and Andy Friedlander, followed by an afternoon of world-class racing at the Championships themselves hearing Hugh Porter, BBC Olympic commentator, in action.There are only 20 places available to over 18s looking for an opportunity to improve their vocal skills and show what they can do with a microphone.
Entry requires you to prepare a 60 second clip of yourself commentating on a sporting event of your choice. Record in Mp3 format or burn to recordable CD and send the whole package to us via email or post. The closing date for receipt of applications is 19 March 2010.

Two British Diving teams, powered by British Gas, are ready for their first international challenges of 2010 taking on tough international competition at the FINA Grand Prix.
The 2009 World Championships saw a number of impressive performances from British divers and the team will be looking to continue their form into 2010.
The FINA Grand Prix series sees divers competing in all Olympic events on the 3m and 10m boards in both synchro and individual events.

The South West and West Midland regions play host to a coaching masterclass by Rohan Taylor on Thursday 25 March 2010 at Bath University. Rohan is a High Performance Coach at Nunawading Swimming Club, Australia and is coach to Leisel Jones, Beijing Olympic Breaststroke champion.
Selected coaches from the Advanced Coaching Offer programme will have the opportunity to benefit from this world class development opportunity with advice on theory, stroke technique and a practical all-day workshop.
18 to 21 August 2010 - Sunderland Aquatic Centre
This competition will be the final qualification event for the 2009 Commonwealth Games and athletes will be looking to put in fast times in order to gain their place on the teams destined for Delhi.
It is the first time the North East will play host to a national swimming championships and alongside local athletes Jessica Dickons and Ian Hulme other top swimmers, including double Olympic Champion Rebecca Adlington and World Champion Liam Tancock, will travel to fight for their place on the Commonwealth Games team.

In October 2008 the ASA annual Council agreed to change ASA laws to enable an individual to obtain temporary membership of the ASA as a category two or a category three member. Individual temporary membership is only available to people who are not current members of an ASA Club.

Student Volunteering Week takes place from 22 to 28 February 2010. The week was established in 2001 and is now an annual fixture in the calendar for the student volunteering sector. The week raises the national profile of Further and Higher Education volunteering and the theme for 2010 is Inspiring futures; connecting communities. Working with stakeholders from all sectors, Student Volunteering Week 2010 highlights the benefits of student volunteering to the private, public and voluntary and community sectors.
Many clubs will be using the event as an opportunity to gain and recognise student volunteers supporting Feb and March County events.

City of Manchester and Lancaster have retained their national titles in an exciting day of competition at the British Gas Water Polo Championships in the Manchester Aquatics Centre.
2009 Mens Champions Lancaster came into the final in great form having taken the National League title earlier this year and coming through the Championships undefeated. With high expectations they beat Bristol Central 13-7.
Lancaster dominated the first period with top-scorer Tom Curwen finding the back of the net four times during the first eight minutes. Lancaster took advantage of a man-up situation with Chris Hartley and Bristol tried to make an attack after five minutes but the Lancaster defence proved too strong and possession was turned around.
GB International team captain Craig Figes got Bristol onto the scoreboard with a shot on goal, but Lancaster countered with a goal of their own.
The British Swimming team, powered by British Gas stormed to a 98 point victory in the British Gas Great Britain v Germany Swim Meet in Swansea.
A number of impressive performances saw Great Britain score a total of 207 points as Germany scored a total of 109 points.

After some excellent performances through the first day of competition Great Britain secured a total of 102 points to Germanys 56 points.
British Gas ITC Swansea swimmer Jazmin Carlin took to the blocks in the womens 400m Freestyle alongside double Olympic Champion Rebecca Adlington and World silver medallist Jo Jackson knowing she had to swim close to her best in order to beat them.
Helen Elkington, a former coach to the Great Britain Olympic Swimming Team, sadly passed away on 4 February 2010 after a short illness.
Helens achievements in the world of swimming were vast. She travelled to the 1968 Mexico Olympics as Stroke Coach to the British Swimming team and later acted as Junior British Synchronised Swimming Team Coach from 1971 to 1977.
The semi-finals of the British Gas National Water Polo Championships were contested on 20 Feb 2010 at the Manchester Aquatics Centre between eight of the top mens and womens teams from around the country.
In the Mens semi-final Bristol were looking to make an impression on the rest of the field after a three year absence from the British Championships as they took on last years fourth-place finishers City of Manchester.
Dominating the first period Bristol stormed into a 5-0 lead with GB International team captain Craig Figes finding the back of the net twice. But it wasnt until the second period that Manchesters strong tactics and great attacking play saw them get on the score board and reduce the deficit to just one goal.

Britains Olympic hopefuls were on top form as records tumbled at the Championships hosted at Ponds Forge.
Commonwealth Games medallist and World Short Course Champion Liam Tancock (Loughborough) was the top performing male, amassing five gold medals and setting two new BUCS championship records while Hannah Miley (Robert Gordon) was the best female swimmer with two golds and a silver.

There are still places available on this course which is the second qualification on the coaching qualifications pathway and will qualify you to operate as a water polo coach. It is ideal for those who are interested in the water polo coaching programme in a competitive environment. Candidates must hold a Level 1 qualification in water polo as this course will build on the skills and knowledge gained at Level 1.

Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 February 2010 - Manchester Aquatics Centre
Eight of Britains top mens and womens water polo clubs will be fighting for national honours when they take part in the British Gas Water Polo Championship Finals 2010.
The competition is the culmination of the National League that takes place from September to January each year and offers the top teams a chance to play against each other in a competitive environment.
The Championships will see defending Mens Champions Lancaster play Rotherham in the first semi-final followed by Manchester taking on Bristol.
