Dorset Playing Field Association
In just a few months the ISSF World Shotgun Cup comes to Dorset, and itll bring major business and tourism benefits to the region. The event is being staged at the Southern Counties Shooting Ground near Dorchester in mid May. There will be more than 400 competitors and an influx of support teams and spectators. Hotels are already taking bookings, with many visitors combining the event with a visit to the World Heritage coast.

The Dorset team won the National Racketball Inter County Championship after beating Devon 3-2 in the final on Sunday. The team did fantastically well to beat Yorkshire in the semi-final and then come back from 2 strings down to beat Devon in final. Campaign aims to get 100,000 more active through dance
The Department of Health's 'Dance Champions' Group, will embark on a nationwide tour to get the country dancing, Public Health Minister Gillian Merron announced on Thursday 15th October.
A nationwide talent search is calling for athletic men over 63 and women over 511 to apply to represent Great Britain in Rio de Janeiro. They have until 16th November 2009 to do so via www.uksport.gov.uk/talent.
A wheelchair football club was started in October and will now be running every Sunday morning in Verwood.
22 Local athletes travelled to Monaco, as part of a 103 strong British team that took part in the World Biathle Championships for Great Britain.
