VOLLEYBALL COACHES COURSE - LEVEL I

This is the basic introductory coaching award and is a minimum of 16 hours. The course aims to enable the coach to assist in the introduction of volleyball to a group of inexperienced adults or children in a safe, controlled and enjoyable manner.

National School Sport Week

National School Sport Week, a government initiative managed by the Youth Sport Trust and supported by Norwich Union, is set to kick off on Monday 30 June and will be a week-long celebration of PE and school sport. The initiative was announced in February by the Prime Minister and Dame Kelly Holmes, the National School Sport Champion, at the Youth Sport Trusts Sports Colleges Conference.

Inspirational Rikki leads by example

Rikki Colegate, 21, sacrificed full-time employment to support the young people in his local area, the troubled Townsend estate in Bournemouth. In a collaboration between the police, the local Youth Service and Nacro, Rikki enrolled as a volunteer football coach and has since proved instrumental in tackling key issues such as racism, anti-social behaviour and obesity in an area buses and taxis once refused to service.
