The BUSA Intra Mural Football Finals were held on Sunday 18 May at the University of Birmingham. The teams had played all year in their own intra mural leagues, but now had the opportunity to prove themselves against teams from all over the country.
Yesterday (Sunday) saw the BUSA squad perform extremely well at the Loughborough international, returning from the event with a mens overall 3rd place. The event, which saw six teams compete over one day (GB U20, senior teams representing England, Scotland, Wales, British Universities and Loughborough Past and Present) battled it out at Loughborough Universitys HiPac.
The British Olympic Association (BOA) have selected World University Games 2007 Team GBR Flag Bearer Alex O'Connell (Fencing - Cambridge) as a further member of Team GB for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
Members only have two days left to nominate candidates to stand for the Executive Group of British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) the new organisation for university sport.
Entries will close on Wednesday 14 May 2008.
UWE Hartpury walked away with the BUSA Mens Football Championship today. The soaring heat and humid conditions played an integral part at Loftus Road, QPR as Bath once again lost out in the final to Hartpury by a single goal, this year 2-1.
As over 40 different Universities, 600 crews and over 2000 athletes from BUSA Rowing made their way north to Glasgow this weekend for the annual BUSA Rowing Regatta - the forecast was looking bleak, but the wind of change on Saturday unfolded into gorgeous sunshine by the Monday and brought with it an overwhelming view from all on board that Glasgow had delivered
The BUSA Outdoor Athletics Championships got off to a flying start in the sun in Bedford with over 1000 athletes descending on the Bedford International Athletics Stadium in preparation for three days of intense competition. Two Championship Best Records have already fallen and with 24 finals taking place today (Monday) this year may be one of the strongest BUSA Outdoor Championships yet.
The new organisation for university sport in the UK is to host its first conference in June at the University of Sussex.
