Golf Home Nations Squads Announced

The annual British Universities Golf Home Nations event, supported as always by generous funding from the R & A, begins next Tuesday (5 August) at the Five Lakes Golf Club in Essex. Teams from England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales with play each other over three days of matchplay competition, both in foursomes and singles, to see whether Scotland can retain their title. -

London South Bank University's Men's Basketball finished in 8th place overall at the EUSA Basketball Championships last week. The tournament involved 31 national university champions from countries including Russia, Slovenia, Spain, Cyprus and Poland.

£35m multi-sports centre for Surrey

Work officially begins today on the University site at Manor Park on the £35 million project which is without question the most exciting sporting development in the area for decades. BUCS Champion breaks UK women's 100m record

Montell Douglas (Brunel) smashed Kathy Cook's 27 year old 100m record last night in Loughborough, and effectively guarenteed her individual selection for Beijing which will be annouced on Saturday. Douglas clocked 11.05 in Loughborough after already being selected in the 4x100m relay team for Team GBR. -

Brownlee heading to Beijing

University of Leeds student Alistair Brownlee is one of three triathletes selected by Great Britain for the Beijing Olympics. Alistair, a second year sports science student from Leeds, recently won the World under-23 Championships and was the top British athlete in recent World Cup races in Madrid (finishing 3rd) and Des Moines (finishing 7th).

British University Wakeboard Nationals 2008

The Wakeboard University Nationals were held at Sheffield Cable Water Ski at the end of June. This year the competitions and evening entertainment were exceptional with over 80 students camping out throughout 4 days of rding and 14 different categories.
