  At a recent team day, one of the questions asked, was what does a Youth Cultural Associate do? Well quite a lot actually. I have been at London 2012 since March 17, and since starting it has been a non-stop roller coaster ride, slow and steady at the start, building up speed to acceleration with all the bumpy bits in between. I applied for this role as it would combine my careers in facilitating workshops on film and drama with youth and also my many years of youth and social work. I am a  and being at London 2012 has enabled me to blossom into a future cultural leader. A Youth Cultural Associate. The Singapore Promise on making youth and young people at the heart of London 2012 was not just words to win the bid, but a genuine commitment to. The appointment of myself is primarily to ensure that we at London 2012 make this commitment real. Initially my work was within the Culture team, but has broadened to other sections of London 2012.

  A surprising day finding out about the Olympic Park sewage network!

  There are so many different parts to the Olympic Park, which I am really enjoying learning about, some more surprisingly than others. Last week I went to meet Tony from the team who are building the sewage network for the Olympic Park, one of the great unseen projects. We met to talk about getting children from the local community out to learn about the work. There is also the possibility of the children naming one of the huge boring machines that are creating the tunnels along which sewage will run.
