Participation in sport and physical activities gives a range of social and health benefits for individuals and communities.
But most sports facilities and projects so far have been unsuccessful at addressing the inequalities in sports participation with participation by people on low incomes less than half the national average.
Participation by nearly all black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) groups is also less than the average. This means that people in neighbourhood renewal areas are missing out on the benefits of sport.

North Wiltshire's Tag Rugby festival was staged at Chippenham Rugby Club on Friday 25th April and one of the most competitive and tense festivals was played out during the afternoon. 300 children and nearly 100 parents, teachers and coaches attended the event and provided an electric atmosphere throughout.
