Over 400 children have been involved in local qualifying rounds of a Kwik Cricket festival across North Wiltshire.
Three festivals, for both mixed teams and girls only teams have taken place as part of the Asda Kwik Cricket competition. The teams were competing to represent North Wiltshire at the County Finals to be held at Trowbridge CC on the 27th June.
The first event at Corsham CC on the 6th June for mixed teams saw a strong challenge from Sherston primary school who won their three group games convincingly. They were joined in the finals by Stanton St Quintin and Derry Hill both of whom managed to qualify from their difficult group. St Edmunds also made the semi-finals but were then beaten by 21 runs by Derry Hill in a re-match of last years final. In the other semi final Stanton scored 278 to Sheratons 247 to make it through to the final where they proved to be too strong for Derry Hill who slipped to a 24 run defeat.
