Wiltshire voluntary and community groups have been awarded over £120,000 to work with vulnerable young people and help reduce the number not in education, employment or training (NEET).
The Wiltshire Services for Young People funding, administered by Connexions as part of the Wiltshire NEET reduction strategy, has been awarded for the last four years, with applications from voluntary and community groups considered by a multi-agency panel and a panel of trained young people. 2008/09 recipients include Relate Mid Wiltshire, British Trust for Conservation Volunteers (BTCV), CFBT Education Trust, U-Too and the Wiltshire and Swindon Sports Activity Partnership (WASP).
