With climate change and childrens health at the top of the agenda, Sustrans and Swindon Borough Council believes that encouraging young people to walk and cycle to school is a vital part of securing a sustainable and healthy future. It not only reduces school run congestion but acts as a great way to introduce exercise in a fun and interesting way.

Learn the principles of good communication and coaching styles and how to use them to meet the needs of your performers. This workshop will help you, the coach to: - identify and explain your own coaching style - assess your own communication skills and action plan to increase your effectiveness - build and maintain good relationships. Developing Power & Speed

Venue: Devizes School, The Green, Devizes, SN10 3AG Cost: £25 (made payable to Wiltshire County Council) This interactive workshop includes tips to develop power, straight line and lateral sport-specific speed, acceleration and agility for coaches of multiple sprint sports such as rugby, tennis and netball. The emphasis is on outlining how general and sport specific conditioning can be used to assist the performer to develop an essential component of their game. WASP has become the seventh County Sports Partnerships to become a Clubmark licensed accreditor This means the partnership is able to accredit clubs that do not have backing of a Sport England recognised NGB accreditation scheme (e.g. martial arts or ice skating)

Grants for young Female Golfers

The ELGA Trust aims to help young, female golfers in need. It will fund the cost of purchasing essential equipment, tuition, accommodation and travel. Each year the Trust awards grants totalling approximately £40,000 helping girl golfers and encouraging newcomers to the sport throughout England. Much of the emphasis has moved towards coaching for beginners and simply making golf an attractive sport for girls to play.
