Street Games is the only national charity dedicated to developing sport in disadvantaged communities. Our goal is to make sport accessible to everyone regardless of their income and social circumstances. We champion 'doorstep sport', by which we mean positive activities delivered close to home, at the right time, at the right place and in the right style. This is an exciting new initiative being rolled out nationally and is now ready to hit Swindon!

Wednesday the 8th October saw the launch of Swindon Borough Councils RationBox Exercise Programme a 12 week home exercise programme aimed at sedentary people and/or those who are unable to access activities in their community.
With climate change and childrens health at the top of the agenda, Sustrans and Swindon Borough Council believes that encouraging young people to walk and cycle to school is a vital part of securing a sustainable and healthy future. It not only reduces school run congestion but acts as a great way to introduce exercise in a fun and interesting way.

Swindon Hockey Club will be holding a Press Launch at the Jovial Monk Public House on Monday 12th January 2009 at 7pm where they will not only be receiving the England 1st Accreditation but will be introducing their new Sponsors e solutions .

Its stated vision is to give more people of all ages the opportunity to participate in high quality competitive sport through developing an integrated and sustainable sporting system which will nurture and develop sporting talent, underpinned by a high quality club and competition structure.

WASP have teamed up with Clarity to offer training to our partners and other sport-related organisations. This relationship allows us to offer one-day courses in Influencing Beyond Authority and NLP at very competitive rates, based in our offices at the Melksham Professional Development Centre.

As part of the Sport England funded Club and Coach Programme an exciting new opportunity has arisen to appoint a Regional Netball Development Coach in the South West. We are seeking a qualified Netball Coach who has worked with talented athletes and has an ability to mentor other coaches.
Closing Date: Wednesday 26th November 2008.
The ELGA Trust aims to help young, female golfers in need. It will fund the cost of purchasing essential equipment, tuition, accommodation and travel. Each year the Trust awards grants totalling approximately £40,000 helping girl golfers and encouraging newcomers to the sport throughout England. Much of the emphasis has moved towards coaching for beginners and simply making golf an attractive sport for girls to play.

We are now seeking to appoint three enthusiastic and self motivated coaches as part of the national Community Sport Coaching Scheme (CSCS).coach.
