An Introduction to the FUNdamentals of Movement

This practical workshop explores the concepts of Agility, Balance and Co-ordination and speed (the ABC's). It compliments other coach education resources which may focus on the movement skills of running, hopping, skipping etc. This workshop assists coaches to observe, analyse and coach good movement patterns within their sessions whether multi skill or sport specific. Cost £25 made payable to Wiltshire County Council.

How to Coach Disabled People in Sport

This workshop tackles questions that are frequently asked by sports teachers, coaches and participants about how to work with disabled sports people. This includes a whole spectrum of new ideas for inclusion, the workshop will introduce and offer guidance to any coach involved with disabled people in sport, the emphasis being to introduce coaches to the Inclusion Spectrum and effective practice. Cost £25 made payable to Wiltshire County Coucil.

This workshop identifies the benefits of opening up your club, to include a wider membership base - meaning more coaches, players, officials and increased revenue, improved eligibility for lottery funding, and quality ratings such as Clubmark; whilst ensuring the involvement and support of the local community. Equity in your Coaching

Everyone should have access to sport, regardless of gender, age, race, ability, faith or sexual orientation. As a coach, you have an important role to play in ensuring this happens. The workshop will help you to apply and extend your existing skills to meet the needs of present and potential participants. Cost £25 made payable to Wiltshire County Council.

First Aid

The UK Coaching Certificate (UKCC) - What is it?

The UK Coaching Certificate is an endorsement of sport specific coach education qualifications that are aligned to an agreed framework. By creating a recognised standard for coach education the UKCC will make it easier to identify a quality coach in any sport at any level and contribute immeasurably to the professionalisation of coaching.

Coaching Blind and Partially Sighted Footballers Course

Salisbury Plain Bikeathon

Burn off the turkey in Christmas Cycle for charity
With the average Christmas dinner serving up 956 calories, Salisbury residents can beat the post-Christmas bulge by getting on their bikes. As well as burning off the turkey and mince pies at the Salisbury Plain Bikeathon on 28 December, cyclists will raise funds for cancer charity Leukaemia Research.

WASP and our local authority partners are now licensed Clubmark accreditors, meaning that we can offer even more support to Wiltshires sports clubs in their drive not only to be highly effective, but also to be attractive to a very wide range of people. We have news of the Department of Health's commitment to CSPs to support the wider physical activity promotion agenda and thoughts on how we can use some of our abundant green space to help reduce health inequalities between rich and poor.
